School: Student found with loaded gun at Darlington High School

A student at Darlington High School was arrested Thursday, after a School Resource Officer searched him and found a loaded gun in his bag.

A teacher was notified by another student that the boy might have a weapon, according to Audrey Childers, the spokeswoman for the Darlington County School District.

That teacher immediately notified a school administrator, who involved the School Resource Officer.

"The student was immediately arrested and removed from the school," Childers said. "At no point did the student threaten any students or staff, or cause a disturbance."

No one was injured.
