School bus collides with car in Carolina Forest

Friday afternoon, a school bus pulled out of Carolina Forest Elementary School and collided with a car.

58 children were on the bus when the wreck happened about 2:45pm Friday.

According to Cpl. Sonny Collins with South Carolina Highway Patrol, the bus driver pulled out in front of the car causing the crash.

The children on the bus were taken back inside the school. Their parents were called to pick them up.

According to Horry County Schools officials, none of the children were injured or needed medical treatment

The driver of the car was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Because the bus driver was cited in the crash, it is school district policy that the driver undergo drug testing.

The driver won't be allowed to drive a district bus until those test results are available and an investigation by the district is complete.
