NEW YORK (AP) - Police on Long Island say a tree trimmer from South Carolina was killed when he was struck by a branch while trying to remove a tree that had been knocked over during Superstorm Sandy.
Police said Thursday that 36-year-old David Freberg, of York, was struck in the head by a broken tree limb on Nov. 12 in Nissequogue. He was rushed to Stony Brook Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say Freberg was working for the South Carolina-based Patriot Tree Service.
