SC pedestrian dies after hit by stolen fire engine

PORT ROYAL, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina man is facing a list of

      charges after

jumping naked into fire truck at an emergency scene,

      then killing a pedestrian

and smashing into multiple vehicles as he

      raced away.

The Beaufort County Coroner's Office said Saturday that

      28-year-old

Justin Miller of Port Royal was killed by the careening

      fire truck as he

      walked along a sidewalk.

A Beaufort police supervisor was not immediately available

      Saturday to

confirm the suspect's identity. The driver was pulled

      from the fire

truck after it crashed into trees and immediately

      began fighting with

      police and paramedics.

Witnesses said the man was naked when he was pulled from the

      fire

truck and when he jumped behind the wheel as Beaufort-Port

      Royal

Fire Department firefighters responded to an apartment

      complex.
