CHARLESTON, S.C. - Law enforcement officers from across the country are in South Carolina this week for a meeting on methamphetamine and prescription drug crimes.
The State Law Enforcement Division says more than 250 people are participating in the National Methamphetamine and Pharmaceuticals Initiative's 2013 training conference.
Organizers say the group aims to cut down on the amount of meth available and learn the best ways to reduce pharmaceutical drug crimes.
The meeting wraps up Thursday and features comments from R. Gil Kerlikowske, director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy.
Prosecutors, intelligence analysts and chemists are also taking part in the sessions, which include attendees from Canada, Mexico and China.
