Robeson County man wanted for murder
Robeson County, S.C. (WPDE) —
Johnathan Maurice Mack is wanted on a warrant for first degree murder in the death of Dwayne Vencent Fairley, 21, who was found shot to death Monday night on Daniel McLeod Road in the Red Springs area of Robeson County, according to Major Anthony Thompson with the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.
Thompson said a deputy responded to a suspicious vehicle at the address of 1108 Daniel McLeod Road.
He added while the officer was heading to the area, he received information that someone heard five to six gunshots in the area and a car leaving the area traveling on Daniel McLeod Road towards Red Springs.
Thompson said the deputy saw the car traveling at a high rate of speed and gave chase into the City Of Red Springs with the driver jumping out of the car on Samuel Williams Drive.
The driver got away.
Thompson said the deputy later got a call that Fairley had been found shot.
An autopsy is being conducted the determine Fairley’s specific casue of death.
