Rescue crews search for woman in ocean

UPDATE: Beach Services workers, lifeguards and patrol officers continue their search for Amy Arrington, 42, of Gastonia, NC, who was reported missing July 5 in North Myrtle Beach, according to Pat Dowling, North Myrtle Beach city spokesperson.

Dowling says Arrington was reportedly last seen about one block north of Sea Mountain Highway wearing a red bathing suit.

Personnel on Jet Skis will continue to patrol the area for an undetermined amount of time.

Patrol Officers will continue to be on the lookout for her in hopes she was not in the water.

North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue and Beach Patrol began searching for a missing woman in the water off Cherry Grove Beach just after 6 o'clock Saturday night.

Search boats entered the water near Sea Mountain Highway and 24th Avenue North and North Ocean Boulevard.

Arrington is 5'2, 130 pounds with black hair and was last seen wearing a one piece red bathing suit with floral design and brown trim. Arrington also has a small tattoo on the bottom side of each wrist, according to Dowling.

Anyone with information on the location of Arrington is asked to contact the North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety at 843-280-5511.
