Puppies stolen from Florence animal shelter found safe

Shelter officials say two puppies that were stolen Sunday from the Jayne Boswell animal shelter in Florence have been found and are safe.

Jayne Boswell said someone spotted the pups running loose in a neighborhood off of Gilbert Road in Florence, which is not far from the shelter.

She said the puppies were hungry.

Boswell added they are safe and back at the shelter where they will receive plenty of food and loving care from shelter employees.

Police continue to investigate to find the teens who stole the puppies.
