Cook Out is opening a new location in Dillon and bringing with it about 40 new jobs, according to the Dillon County Administrator Rodney Berry.

The restaurant will be going into the old Shoney's on Highway 9 in the city limits of Dillon, according to Berry.

Berry said he knew once the S.C. Ports Authority announced that it would be building an inland port in Dillon County, that it would be the catalyst for more economic development in the county.

"My focus and stance has always been industrial recruitment. When we land these job creators, which enhances demographics and circulates additional paychecks, the result is the presence of food chains like Cook Out," said Berry.

The restaurant is expected to open in mid-November.
