Horry County police say they received several phone calls about a video going around Facebook concerning child pornography.
It appears that the video is some sort of spam/virus that Facebook users receive as a message sent from one of their friends, police say.
Once a user opens the video, it then sends the video to all of that user's friends.
There is no indication the criminal act itself originated in Horry County, according to police.
If you receive a message from a Facebook friend with a link to a video, the best thing to do is to not open the link and delete the message immediately.
Horry County police say the Federal Bureau of Investigations is aware of the scam.
