Police trying to identify stabbing victim

Hartsville police are investigating a homicide after a 911 call led them to the body of a woman on 8th Street at 5 a.m. Friday, according to Chief James Hudson.
Police said the woman appeared to have been stabbed in the chest.
Coroner Todd Hardee is working with police to identify the victim. Police have only said she is a black woman, between the ages of 17 and 25.
"We are still trying to get a positive identification on the body," said Chief Hudson in a press release. "Right now we are going door to door to see what type of information we can find from residents in the area."
An autopsy is being conducted on the victim.
