Police: Suspect in Walgreens robbery handed over ransom note for narcotics
Horry County, S.C. (WPDE) —
Horry County police are looking for a man who went into Walgreens in Carolina Forest, left a ransom note and demanded narcotics, according to a police report.
Police spoke to one of the victims who said that the suspect, who had strawberry blonde hair, blue eyes and was about 5-feet, 7-inches, put a ransom note on the county while she was waiting on another customer, according to the report.
That person handed the note to the pharmacist, according to the report.
The pharmacist told police she asked the suspect to come to the other window. When the suspect was at the window, she showed where the safe was containing the narcotics he was requesting, according to the police report.
The man then jumped the counter and went to the safe, according to the report.
The report states the pharmacist told police she handed him an unknown quantity of a product. The name of the product is redacted in the report.
While the safe was open, the suspect also grabbed an unknown quantity of another product. That product is also redacted from the report.
After he grabbed the narcotics, the man jumped back over the counter and left the store, according to the report.
Neither victim said they saw any weapons in the man's pockets, but the pockets did seem full with an unknown object, according to the report.
There was surveillance video from the incident, however, the suspect had a bandanna hiding his face, according to the report.
The report statest that police also tried to get fingerprints from the scene since the suspect was not wearing gloves.
