Horry County police are looking for a second suspect they say was involved in the shooting that took place over the weekend at a Carolina Forest apartment complex.

Akeem Akbar Young, 36, of Conway, is wanted for murder, according to a release from Horry County Police Department.

Young was known to be driving a red Dodge Challenger with NC tags or a silver 2 door 6 series BMW with Nance's Auto paper tags, the release said.

The release said Young should be considered armed and dangerous and anyone who sees him is asked to call 911.

On Tuesday Delshawn Anthony Davis, 29, of Conway, was arrested and charged with murder in connection with this same shooting.

Davis turned himself in on Tuesday and is currently in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center, according to a release from police.

The victim in the shooting was Antonio Dexter Smith, 26, of Myrtle Beach, according to a police report.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said Smith died at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center from multiple gun shot wounds.

According to a police report released Monday, an officer arrived on scene Saturday afternoon at Canterbury Apartments in Carolina Forest after reports of shots fired and at least one possible victim.

The officer saw a gold Ford Expedition that had crashed into a silver Toyota Corolla in the parking lot. He walked around the car and saw a large crowd around a man who was lying on the ground next to the Expedition with gunshot wounds to his chest, stomach and arms, the report said.

Witnesses said they heard 4 to 6 gunshots fired and had seen a black Chrysler 300 speed off after the shots were fired.

Five shell casings were found and taken as evidence.
