Myrtle Beach police have located the person who drove a truck into the ocean early Friday morning.
Police were called to the beach at 4th Avenue South and Ocean Boulevard, behind the Westgate Ocean Front Resort at about 2:30 a.m.
When police arrived, the Chevrolet 2500 was in the surf with the engine running but the driver had left the scene.
Police searched the Westgate Resort for the owner of the truck.
A tow truck got stuck trying to pull the truck free, but the driver was eventually able to get his own rig and the truck off the beach.
Myrtle Beach police say the owner of the truck is visiting with his brother. The brother took the truck and ended up in the surf, according to Cpt. David Knipes.
The brother has been charged with Driving a Vehicle on the Beach.
