Police searching for man accused of touching 12-year-old girl

UPDATE: Suspect is in custody and was taken to the North Myrtle Beach Jail Saturday, according to the City of North Myrtle Beach Public Information Officer.

The North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety is searching for Robert Hayes, Jr., after it was reported that he inappropriately touched a young girl.

North Myrtle Beach police have a warrant out for Hayes' arrest for Assault / Attempt to Commit Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor, according to a release from North Myrtle Beach.

According to a warrant request, Hayes is accused of touching a 12-year-old girl on June 29.

It was reported to police on July 17 that on June 29 around 7:30 in the morning, the girl woke up to Hayes touching her.

Hayes is 26 years old, 5'7" tall and weighs about 155 pounds and lives in the North Myrtle Beach/Longs Area.
