Police say woman mad over breakup calls in bomb threat for FMU

Latasha Johnson, 26, of Dillon is charged with two counts of Making a Bomb Threat and Harrassment after police said she left a voicemail message threatening to blow up Francis Marion University, according to Francis Marion University Police Chief Richard Austin.

Austin says Johnson left two messages on November 11 on the voicemail box of the Redwolves General Manager, who is working out of an office at FMU. He said in the second message Johnson essentially said she was going to bomb the university and to "be ready."

He said the message also named a student at the university. Police questioned that student and Austin said she implicated her ex-girlfriend, Latasha Johnson, may be the person who left the threatening message. Austin adds campus police reports have been made against Johnson for being violent toward the student in the past.

An investigation led to Johnson's arrest on Tuesday.

She's being held at the Florence County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
