Police are still looking for two suspects involved in an overnight armed robbery and shooting in Carolina Forest, according to Lt. Robert Kegler with the Horry County Police Department. Residents are still being asked to be aware of their surroundings and call 911 if they see anything suspicious.
The robbery and shooting led to a manhunt Wednesday night.
About 9 p.m., two people were robbed in the parking lot of the McDonald's on International Drive.
Police say the four suspects took off down Carolina Forest Boulevard, with the armed robbery victims chasing them.
"In the area of the church a collision occurred between the two vehicles. During that time an altercation took place and the victim was shot," Kegler explained.
The victim was treated and released from the hospital Thursday.
Two of the four suspects were captured, but two others ran off.
The two suspects who are in custody are Thurston Hardiman, 19, of Longs, and Christopher Giddens, 19, of Florence, according to Lt. Robert Kegler with the Horry County Police Department.
Kegler said the two have not been charged yet. They were booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center Thursday before 2 a.m. and are still being held there.
Police officers and canine units searched through neighborhoods for the two suspects for hours Thursday morning.
During the search, Horry County police asked everyone in the area to stay inside their homes and lock their doors and windows.
No descriptions of the suspects who are at large is available at this time.
Detectives with Major Crimes are investigating the incident and are working on identifying the suspects.
