Report: Man shot after six masked men invade home near Loris

Horry County police are investigating a Tuesday night shooting that left one person injured.

The shooting happened on Buena Vista Drive in the Loris area and police responded around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

When officers arrived they saw a 23-year-old man on the floor in the living room with a gun shot wound, according to an Horry County police report.

The officer talked to witnesses who said there was a knock at the door, so a woman in the house opened the door and six men wearing ski masks came into the home with guns and told everyone to get on the floor, according to the police report.

Then there was a gunshot, the report said.

The witnesses told the officer that after the gun shot all the masked men left.

No one was able to say if they heard or saw a vehicle in the driveway or give any further descriptions of the suspects, the report said.

HCPD said no suspect information is available at this time.

The man who was shot had non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital, according to the Horry County police spokeswoman.

This story will be updated as more information comes into the newsroom.
