Police looking for missing teens

Jake Ziegler, 18, and Ray Pierce, 17, of Catawba County, North Carolina headed for Myrtle Beach Saturday and haven't been seen since.

They were last at Jesse's Race Shop in Sherrills Ford, North Carolina in Jake's green 2006 Pontiac G6, with the North Carolina license plate BDD8844.

Authorities say the two left sometime around 1:30 a.m. Saturday from a party. They told friends they planned to drive to Myrtle Beach, then return later Saturday, according to Wendy Pierce, Ray's mom.

One of their cell phones last pinged near Rock Hill Saturday, October 13. Sheriff's deputies in Fairfield County, where the cell phone signal was detected, are actively searching around mile marker 48 on Interstate 77, according to Fairfield County officials.

Friends and family are searching for the teens, thinking they may have been in a wreck. They're canvassing the main highways in Horry County like 501, 22, and 31.

The father of one of the missing teens is in route to Conway to get in a helicopter with Horry County officials to do an aerial search of the area.

The family has been talking to a number of psychics and they have told the family to search in the Conway and Socastee areas.

The psychics told the family they believe the missing boys are in a car flipped upside down somewhere, according to Jackie Ziegler, sister of missing Jake Ziegler.

Family members say the Cue Center for Missing Persons, based in Wilmington, will be aiding in the search.

If you've seen the teens or the car, you're asked to call Jackie Ziegler at (704) 929-6296.
