Police: Laurinburg man arrested for stabbing girlfriend

Jimmy Lee Patterson, 26, of Laurinburg has been arrested for stabbing his 24-year-old girlfriend, according to Lt. Cliff Sessoms with the Laurinburg Police Department.

The stabbing happened on June 1 around 11:25 a.m. on Pitt Street in Laurinburg.

The woman was stabbed multiple times with a knife, according to police.

She was taken to Scotland Memorial Hospital.

Warrants were obtained for Patterson.

On Monday, he was taken into custody after he contacted authorities.

Patterson is charged with Attempted Murder, First Degree Kidnapping, Assault inflicting Serious Injury and Larceny.

He is in the Scotland County Jail being held on a $2.5 million dollar bond.
