Police investigate early morning shooting in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach police are investigating a shooting that sent a 23-year-old man to the hospital, according to a police report.

Officers were called to a wooded area on the 900 block of Blue Street in Myrtle Beach Tuesday morning around 1:15.

The report said a witness told officers he heard six gunshots. He said he saw the person responsible for the shooting on Crimson Street.

Officers went to that home and arrested Jamal Devante, 21, of Myrtle Beach.

Captain David Knipes with Myrtle Beach Police said Devante will likely face an Attempted Murder charge in this shooting.

Knipes said he will be charged once warrants are served, which is expected to happen Tuesday.

The victim was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
