Police chase leads to crash in Horry County

A man was arrested following a police chase and car crash in Horry County early Friday morning.

A trooper with South Carolina Highway Patrol tried to pull over Deantray Bellamy on Highway 905 around 1am.

Bellamy failed to stop for blue lights and led the trooper on a chase down a narrow country road going 100 miles per hour, according to Sergeant Jeff Benton with the Horry County Sheriff's Office.

Bellamy eventually lost control of the car and it flipped, trapping him inside.

He tried to kick out the window but failed and was arrested.

Bellamy was driving with a suspended license and now faces multiple charges, according to Benton.

Law enforcement is investigating whether alcohol was involved.
