Police charge two Sumter High football players with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old

Sumter police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred at Sumter High School in February of 2013.

In May, a 14-year-old male victim reported to officers that three people sexually assaulted him while in a bathroom/locker room at Sumter High School.

The victim stated that two people held him down while a third sexually assaulted him with an unknown object, the report stated.

The victim identified the subjects involved in the incident as two 16-year-olds, according to police. Both were charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor 2nd Degree and Conspiracy.

Deputy Chief of Police with the Sumter Police Department Alvin Holston said the two suspects who were charged are football players at Sumter High School.

Bond was set for each defendant at $20,000 surety.

The third subject has not been identified at this time.
