Police called for shots fired at North Oaks Apartments in Conway

Conway Police are investigating an assault and shots fired overnight at about 1:30 a.m. Friday at the North Oaks Apartment Complex.

Conway police and Horry County Fire Rescue responded to the call.

When they got there, police located a 37-year-old man that had been assaulted but was not shot, according to Lieutenant Selena Small with Conway police.

He was taken to Conway Medical Center, according to a police report.

Medical staff determined the victim was not shot, but has a broken cheek bone and scrapes on his face and on his knuckles, according to the report.

The victim told officers shots were fired and neighbors we talked to said the shots woke them up.

Conway police officers are looking for a 16-year-old boy in connection to the incident.
