Police arrest 11 in drug raid

Bennettsville police rounded up 11 people Wednesday morning wanted for drug crimes following an undercover investigation that started back in December.

Officers say they received a number of complaints from residents about drug activities in the community.

"Letting the citizens know we're out here doing what we can do and we believe in keeping them safe. We're trying to be proactive instead of reactive," said Lieutenant Larry Turner.

Officers raided two homes on Amelia Street.

The following people were arrested:

Ronald Richard Brown, Distribution of Marijuana.

Roosevelt Jenkins, Two counts of Distribution of Marijuana and one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana.

Maurice Kollock, Distribution of Marijuana.

Larell McDonald, Distribution of Marijuana.

Patricia Quick, Distribution of Controlled Substance.

Nicole Leggett, Distribution of Crack Cocaine

Jarod Jenkins, Two counts Distribution of Marijuana, two counts of Distribution of Marijuana Within the Proximity of a School.

Larry Evans, Distribution of Marijuana.

Luther Douglas, III, Distribution of Marijuana

Anthony Dease, two counts Distribution of Marijuana and Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana.

Michael Wilson, Distribution of Imitation Drug.

Turner says this investigation is ongoing.

Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office helped in the investigation.
