"Pluff" the turtle released

A young sea turtle found stuck in the pluff mud on Hilton Head Island last June, is finally headed back out to sea.

The 65 pound turtle was named "Pluff" and has been undergoing treatment for the past four months at the South Carolina Aquarium's Sea Turtle Hospital.

Pluff arrived at the hospital lethargic, thin and covered in barnacles.

Pluff was released Thursday in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and the Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission.
