Player with Down syndrome talks about the play of a lifetime

It all got started on WPDE's Chevy End Zone. Myrtle Beach High's display of sportsmanship in their 64-16 playoff win over Hilton Head became a viral video on the internet. Chip Mullen, a 20 year old senior with Down syndrome, scored on the final play of his high school career on a 75 yard touchdown run.

In addition to being named the #9 play of the weekend on ESPN SportsCenter, the WPDE YouTube video was featured in the Huffington Post and is over 275,000 views. NewsChannel 15's Mark Haggard travelled to Hilton Head to introduce our viewers to the young man who has garnered all of the attention. Mullen received special permission to attend Hilton Head High by the superintendent. He is looking to attend college and is considering Vanderbilt, Appalachian State and Coastal Carolina.

"We made a young man's dream come true by allowing him to be happy on the football field and scoring a touchdown," Hilton Head football coach Tim Singleton said.
