Pee Dee man charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct

The State Law Enforcement Division charged Kenneth Jay Britt, 44, of Clio, with Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor, according to court documents.

On March 5th, 13th and 21st, Britt is accused of having sex with a 12-year-old victim at his home, the documents stated.

Between April 8th and May 28th, Britt is accused of having sex with a 13-year-old at both his home and the victim's home.

On Thursday, June 13, 2013, the South Carolina Church of God State Executive Offices were informed that Reverend Kenneth Jay Britt, pastor of The Clio Church of God in Clio, South Carolina, had been arrested and charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

In keeping with the ecclesiastical polity of Church of God, South Carolina Church of God Administrative Bishop, Reverend Thomas Gillum, has placed Reverend Britt on administrative leave and has suspended him from all ministerial activities, pending investigation and disposition of this matter.
