A& E Networks has put one of its most popular characters on indefinite hiatus.

The patriarch of the hit reality series "Duck Dynasty" has been suspended from filming after his comments about same-sex relationships, which were made in a recent GQ interview featured in the January edition.

Phil Robertson was asked his definition of sinful behavior. He said, "Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there, such as bestiality."

A&E said in a statement that it was extremely disappointed to read Robertson's comments in GQ magazine.

The Network said Robertson is off the show indefinitely and that his beliefs are personal and don't reflect the views of A&E or the show itself.
