A 600-seat theater named for singer Pat Boone is planned for Myrtle Beach.
The president of the entertainment company opening the Pat Boone Family Theater told The Sun News of Myrtle Beach on Thursday that he plans to open May 1.
Glenn Milligan is president and chief executive of Liquid Metal Holdings.
Milligan says the theater will be in the former NASCAR Cafe near the entertainment complex Broadway at the Beach.
Liquid Metal is applying for permits to renovate the building, which should take two to three months once work begins.
Boone was a pop recording artist of the 1950s and early '60s. He continues to record standards and religious music and famously recorded an album of heavy-metal classics in the 1990s.
