Passenger numbers up at MYR in October

The Myrtle Beach International Airport saw a 16 percent increase in passengers in October 2013 compared to October 2012.

This past October, 74,015 passengers arrived at the airport, 10,300 more than October 2012.

Year-to-date the airport has welcomed 749,113 arriving passengers, or 13.41 percent more than same period last year, according to airport spokesman Kirk Lovell.

"Year-to-date October 2013, Myrtle Beach International Airport has already welcomed as many passengers to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina as it did for the full-year 2012," said Pat Apone, Interim Director of Airports. "The continued popularity of the Grand Strand and returning financial strength of the airline industry is helping the airport realize year-over-year passenger growth."

      · Delta Air Lines - 12%

      · Spirit Airlines + 34%

      · Porter +30%
