Passenger dies, three injured in Florence County crash

A woman died and three others, including a baby, were injured in a Florence County crash Saturday afternoon. It happened around 3:50 p.m. on Old Charleston Road between Coward and Scranton.

LCpl. Judd Jones with Highway Patrol said the driver of a 2010 Chevrolet was traveling south on Old Charleston Road and the driver of a 2007 Honda was traveling north when the two collided in the southbound lane.

The driver of the Chevrolet was taken to McLeod Regional Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, according to Jones. A passenger died and a 5-month-old with serious injuries were also taken to McLeod.

Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken identified the victim as Martha Graham, 59, of the Scranton area. She died from internal injuries a short time after the crash, according to von Lutcken.

The driver of the Honda was taken to Carolinas Hospital with serious injuries, according to Jones.

The crash is under investigation by Highway Patrol.
