One dead, one airlifted after motorcycle crash on Highway 17

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) - South Carolina Highway Patrol says a man was killed in a wreck around 10 p.m. Saturday on Highway 17 business.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard says the victim is
Logan Trevino, 57, of Myrtle Beach.

Police say the the three vehicle wreck occurred near Surfside Beach just north of Ocean Lakes Campground.

Sonny Collins says a woman driving a 2011 Toyota van pulled out across Highway 17 when the driver of a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle struck the side of the van.

The victim was not wearing a helmet.

A second motorcyclist, also not wearing a helmet, was injured after they drove their bike off the road to avoid the accident.

That victim was sent to the Augusta Burn Center.

The name of the victim has not been released. Willard said the victim's family has not been located at this time.

The Highway Patrol MAIT team is investigating the accident.

No charges have been filed against anyone involved in the collision.
