Officer who responded to Ocean Boulevard shooting receives commendation
Myrtle Beach, S.C. (WPDE) —
The police officer who responded to the shooting on Ocean Boulevard that was caught on Facebook Live earlier this year was recognized by Myrtle Beach Police Chief Amy Prock Friday.
Officer Brendan Hyde arrived on-scene seconds after the shots rang out. His vehicle was struck 3 times.
Hyde's commendation was for his part in helping the department gather information quickly after the shooting happened, allowing MBPD to get a head start on their investigation.
Five people are facing charges for the June 18 shooting.
