According to Horry County Fire Rescue, North Myrtle Beach High School caught fire about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The school's address is 3750 Sea Mountain Highway.

In a Tweet, Horry County Fire Rescue said there were no injuries reported.

By 9 p.m. firefighters had the fire "knocked down," according to Twitter, but they were still dealing with fire in the roof of the gym area. They called the task "an extensive overhaul operation."

By 10 p.m. firefighters had put the fire out and the scene was cleared.

Chief Doug Klein, with Horry County Fire Rescue, said it was a small fire that caused minor damage to the roof.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Chief Klein said it should not interrupt school Wednesday.

Lisa Bourcier, the spokesperson for Horry County Schools, said she thought class would continue as scheduled Wednesday. She said she would be in touch with fire officials to determine any changes.
