Nightclub shooter gets 20 years in prison

Deron Jardell Myers was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

A judge sentenced Deron Jardell Myers, 25, to 20 years in prison Tuesday after a jury convicted him of two counts of Attempted Murder, according to Twelfth Circuit Solicitor Ed Clements.

Clements said Myers shot two people at the Down Beat Club on Karisma Road near Coward last April.

Myers shot one victim multiple times in the leg after the victim attempted to break up a fight, investigators said.

They added Myers shot the other victim in the foot as he tried to run away.

Myers was prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm or ammunition because of a prior felony conviction, according to investigators.
