New art and music festival in Conway this Saturday
A new festival is coming to Conway this Saturday - the Indie Market on Laurel.
People will be able to find bands, beer and art at this "Create Conway" event.
"One of the things that art does, is it really makes our community more livable," said Dennis Stevens, Conway Dultural Development.
Independent artists will showcase their work at the Indie Market.
"I like to bring in people who make things. Tangible art. Things that you can use everyday. Things that you can touch and enjoy," said Erin Hall, an Indie Market organizer.
And what goes better with crafts than craft beer?
"Craft beer is very artisanal. It's someone sitting down and writing a recipe saying, lets do it this way," said Thomas Lucas, The Bottle Shop owner.
Bluegrass music will also fill the air all day.
"Anytime you get that many artists all showing their wares, showing their skills, and that many people enjoying all that, plus music in the background, you can't ask for a better day," said Kevin Borgstedt, a musician.
The Indie Market on Laurel will be Saturday, April 2 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. in downtown Conway.
The Muse on the Waccamaw Songwriting Contest finals start Saturday night at 8 p.m. at Conway Glass.
