Myrtle Beach police investigate meth lab bust

Myrtle Beach police officers are investigating a methamphetamine lab.

Officers found an operational meth lab in a room at 1001 S. Ocean Boulevard around 2 a.m. Tuesday, according to Captain David Knipes with the Myrtle Beach Police Department.

The State Law Enforcement Division was called to help dismantle the lab at the Polynesian Resort.

Some adjacent rooms were evacuated until officers removed the items and rendered the room safe.

There have been two arrests, but no official charges yet. The two suspects have Murrells Inlet addresses.

Officers closed a small portion of 10th Ave. South between Ocean Blvd. and Yaupon Drive during the investigation.
