Myrtle Beach man pleads guilty in child porn case

      Charles Burns

Charles Burns, 25 of Myrtle Beach, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to ten counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor Third Degree in front of Judge Hyman in Horry County.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department found Burns after receiving leads from Pennsylvania State Police about an individual disseminating child pornography.

Officers found several CDs containing child pornography when they executed a search warrant at his home in October 2010.

Burns was sentenced to one year, to be followed by three years of probation.

Burns consented to the forfeiture of the seized equipment and must register as a sex offender.

Burns was originally charged with 27 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor 3rd Degree, a felony offense punishable up to ten years in prison.
