Myrtle Beach flea market closing

The Myrtle Beach Flea Market will be closing on Saturday, Feb. 28 because it has lost its lease, according to a press release.

Delaware North Sportservice said in the release that it reviewed its options, including alternative locations but decided that it can no longer manage and operate the flea market.

The market has been located off of Kings Highway, just south of Farrow Parkway, for about 20 years.

"We have enjoyed our time here at Myrtle Beach," said Sportservice Regional Vice-President Jerry Freed in the release. "We appreciate the opportunity to have worked with our vendors and become part of this community."

Starting next week, on Wednesday, Feb. 11, the market will be open to the public daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. But the vendors will be able to decide if they want to open their spaces on an individual basis.

The final day of operation will be Saturday, Feb. 28.
