Murder trial of North Myrtle Beach man scheduled to start this week

The murder trial of a North Myrtle Beach man, charged in the death of a friend, is scheduled to begin Tuesday.

Jeffrey Wayne Riebe, 43, is accused of strangling Phyllis Mowery at her home in North Myrtle Beach in August 2008.

She was found dead in her apartment on Hillside Drive.

An Horry County grand jury indicted Riebe on one count of murder in 2009.

Police have not released a motive.

Riebe's trial is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
