Military recruiter pleads guilty to inappropriate conduct with student

Corey Wilson pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor following an incident when he was working at Latta High School as a recruiter for the SC National Guard, according to the SC Attorney General's Office.

State police charged Wilson with Sexual Battery after they say he had sexual relations with a 16-year-old student in May 2012.

We're waiting to learn why he was allowed to plead guilty to a lesser charge.

Officials with the SC National Guard say as a result of Wilson's guilt plea, they have started the process to permanently remove him from the guard.

Wilson was sentenced to three years probation.

He agreed not to work in any SC schools and has to pay $1,000 restitution to the victim.
