Three employees of Don's Car Crushing and two customers have been arrested in connection with what the Marion County Sheriff's Office calls "ticket padding."
The sheriff's office was contacted by Don's Car Crushing on February 22nd, according to Captain Judith Barker, with the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
An investigation revealed that several employees were writing down more weight on a ticket than the actual weight of the load, Barker said.
The result, she reported, is that the customer received more funds for the load than he or she was supposed to get.
Don's Car Crushing is located in Sellers.
The following employees were charged with Breach of Trust and Criminal Conspiracy:
William Ammons, 21 of Marion
Hoyt Richardson, 26 of Marion
George Gardner, 22 of Marion
The following customers were charged with Obtaining Property under False Pretense and Criminal Conspiracy:
Jason Smith, 32 of Marion
Ted Harper, 30 of Mullins
All five have been released on bond.
Don's Car Crushing lost about $20,000.
