Men plead to robbery where clerk shot in eye

Morris Hickson

Monday morning, two Timmonsville men pled guilty to robbing a store. The store clerk was shot in the eye.

A judge sentenced Morris Hickson to 25 years in prison for armed robbery and assault and battery with intent to kill.

Hickson's accomplice, William Dickey, pled guilty to armed robbery and was sentenced to 12 years.

Last August, they held up Strickland's Mini Mart near Timmonsville.

After Hickson got the money, he shot the store clerk in the eye. She lost her eye as a result.

Hickson has to serve 85 percent of his prison sentence before he's eligible for parole.
