Memorial Day Events around Myrtle Beach, Florence

      Here are some of the different commemoration events going on along the Grand Strand and in the Pee Dee for Memorial Day.

      All the listed events will be held on Monday.

      Florence National Cemetery, East National Cemetery Road in Florence

      The speaker will be Alfred H. "Al" Agnew, a Pee Dee native, Citadel graduate, Vietnam POW and USN Commander Retired, and pilot

      North Myrtle Beach

      10:30 a.m.- Entertainment

      11:00 a.m.- Service

      North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens, intersection of highways 9, 90, 17 and Nixons Crossroads

      Grand 14 Cinemas at The Market Common in Myrtle Beach.

      A public recognition of veterans and active duty military, a performance of patriotic music and a color guard presentation will proceed a screening of the documentary film Lions in Blue & Gray: Joshua Chamberlain and Stonewall Jackson


      Surfside Beach

      2:30 p.m.

      Veterans Memorial on Surfside Drive

      The speaker will be USAF Ret. Colonel Rick McDown, A Vietnam POW

      Murrells Inlet

      9:00 a.m.

      Belin Cemetery, Highway 17 in Murrells Inlet

      Memorial Day graveside service. Children of Belin School will be singing various patriotic songs


      Iraq/Afghanistan Memorial at VFW Post 10420, 3459 Hwy 17 Bypass

      Re-dedicating the recently completed memorial
