Members of Fort Bragg honor guard injured in Laurinburg crash

Ten members of a Fort Bragg Honor Guard were in a van headed to a funeral in Charlotte when the van was hit by a log truck at Old Wire Road and Highway 15-501 in Laurinburg Friday morning, according to North Carolina Highway Patrol.

The driver of the van, Richard Horton

22, is charged with Failure To Yield Right Of Way, Highway Patrol said.

Two of the members were airlifted to area hospitals and six were taken to Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg, Highway Patrol said.

Patrol adds the other two members weren't injured.

It is not known if the driver of the log truck was hurt.

NC Highway Patrol is investigating to determine what if any charges will be filed in this case.

We expect more information to be released later Friday evening.
