Marlboro County Coroner: Body found in creek off of Gum Swamp Road in McColl
MARLBORO COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) —
Marlboro County Coroner Tim Brown said a body was found Sunday morning in a creek off Gum Swamp Road near New Bridge Road in McColl.
Brown said the body was found around 10 a.m., but he couldn't confirm if the body was that of a male or female, child or adult.
Brown said an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday in Charleston.
The location is near where Jackie Hulon was was found stabbed to death in 2005. Jejuancey Harrington was charged in Hulon's killing, but was acquitted in 2007, according to a South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) background check and the Marlboro County public index.
In 2006, Harrington was convicted of resisting arrest. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail, but was given credit for time served.
In 2015, he was convicted of driving under suspension and drug possession. At that time, he was sentenced to time in jail and a fine.
In 2016, Harrington was convicted of misdemeanor speeding, driving under suspension, and open container.
On Saturday, Harrington was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime in the death of Ella Lowery and kidnapping her 8-year-old daughter Iyana Lowery, according to a news release from SLED on behalf of the Marlboro County Sheriff's Office.
