Marion police locked down three schools Tuesday afternoon as they searched for an armed man on the south side of Liberty Street, said Marion Police Chief Jim Gray.

They're looking for Dominique Davonah Brand, 20, of Mill Ridge Court. Marion police consider him their "Most Wanted" suspect.

Dianne Owens, a spokesperson for the city, said Brand is suspected of committing at least 20 burglaries last month.

Tuesday morning, employees of the Title Loan business on East Liberty Street found Brand on their roof, said Owens.

Employees told police Brand climbed down a ladder and ran off.

Chief Gray said Marion High School, Johnakin Middle School, and Marion Success Academy were placed on lock down as a precaution.

Among the law enforcement agencies helping in the search are Marion County sheriff's deputies, Mullins police, the Pardon and Parole Board, and SLED agents.

Anyone with information about Brand is asked to call the Marion Police Department at 843-423-8616 or the Marion Fox Watch Tip Line at 843-423-0TIP (0847).

A SLED helicopter also helped in the search for Brand.
