Two Marion men were arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged in connection to a drive-by shooting on August 25 in Marion.
Corey Dontray Rowell, 18, of Marion, was arrested on warrants for Attempted Murder, Pointing and Presenting a Firearm, Discharging a Firearm in the City Limits, and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime.
Tony Dewayne Rollins, 24, of Marion, was arrested and charged with First Degree Assault, Discharging a Firearm in the City Limits and Accessory after the fact to Attempted Murder.
The charges stem from a shooting on Rosewood Drive earlier this summer where Robert David Townsend, 24, was shot in the shoulder.
Officers say the shooting was some type of retaliation act involving rival gangs in the city.
They didn't release the names of the suspected gangs involved.
When shots were fired, officers with the Marion Police Gang Unit were in the area doing saturation patrols in effort to curb gang violence.
