Man wanted for armed robbery in Pawleys Island

The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office released surveillance photographs Wednesday morning from an armed robbery that took place at the Dollar General in Pawleys Island on June 8.

The sheriff's office is asking for the public's help in identifying and finding the man pictured.

Deputies responded to the Dollar General at 10400 Ocean Highway at about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, according to a release.

The clerk told deputies a person came in and demanded money from the register. The man ordered the victim to the floor with what appeared to be a handgun, the release said.

One employee was able to escape out the front door, and the suspect followed. He was last seen running south on foot.

No one was injured during the incident, according to the release.
